The sacha inchi or Inca peanut, originally from the eastern Peru, is the richest natural source in omega 3, 6 and 9 compared to the oils of all the oleaginous seeds, used in the world such as peanuts, soybeans, sunflower and corn, making this seed the nutritional and therapeutic protagonist. It helps to reduce the high cholesterol, it is an excellent natural antioxidant, it regulates blood pressure and good digestion. Ideal to improve the nutritional diet of children, youth, adults and the elderly.
Sancha inchi has been for centuries the food of all Peruvian generation. It has been found origin records in pre-Inca cultures, through representations of fruits in Chimús and Mochicas huacos founded in their tombs. The four points of the fruit have been the source of inspiration for the “truncheon”. Actually, is being studied the presence of this plant in the ancient Caral culture, more than 3,000 years old, at north of Lima. The Republic Congress declared Sacha lnchi, lnca Peanut or lnca lnchi (Plukenetia volubilis Linneo) as a “National genetic heritage, due to its quality and nutritional composition, our biological diversity product, of ancestral use since pre-Hispanic times”.
